Last night a murderer entered the Trolley Square Mall and started killing people.  So far it doesn't appear that he had a purpose to his slaughter but was just shooting whoever was there.  What prevented this tradgedy from becoming far worse?  An off duty police officer from Ogden was at the mall and fulfilled his duty.  He risked his own life to protect those who he didn't know.  I commend his efforts and am glad that this murderer was not the only one in the mall who had a gun and knew how to use it.

That said I hope this doesn't become an excuse to tighten gun laws.  What if that police officer had been an average citizen with a concealed weapon?  I find it interesting that it was nuclear arms that prevented WWIII.  Opression happens when only one side has guns.  Perhaps our founding fathers knew this well.

I also agree! Some may try to bring up gun control. I'll be watching. As I think most of us will.
