Propaganda!

            How can Americans make intelligent choices when they are constantly being bombarded with propaganda? What you say, give me proof! Ok, here goes. The Major Media (MM) have been hyping the Joe Wilson/Valerie Plame affair since Robert Novak column mentioning the name of Joe Wilson’s wife Valerie Plame and her employment with the CIA. The very leftist “Nation Magazine” was the first to spin the story as it currently exists. That is they assigned a motive to the Bush Administration’s as, (trying to punish Joe Wilson by outing his wife!) This allegation has been repeated so often by the MM that no one even thinks as to, how do they know what there motive was? The MM often calls this spin! That is, putting an explanation to a given story, regardless of the facts. I have yet to read any article by the Major Media questioning this. A few days ago, Daniel Snoor, even used this explanation in a op-ed piece in our illustrious HJ. How could anyone possibly know what motivated the Admin? Isn’t it more reasonable to assume they were trying to address the facts regarding Mr. Wilson’s allegations reported in his op-ed piece printed in the New York Times? Mr. Wilson has been caught in a number of prevarications’ in that and other articles.

            Yet how many of you have even read anything addressing this issue. If you only get one side of a story, especially one that is factually challenged how can that not be propaganda? The MM does this all of the time. Very recently most of the players in the MM reported the death of a Palestinian family on a Gaza beach. They immediately bought into the Hamas line, that it was Israeli counter-battery fire that killed them. It turns out far more likely that they were killed by actions directly assigned to Hamas and that Israeli cannon fire had ceased action fifteen minutes before this incident. How often does the death of Israeli citizens by Hamas rocket fire make it into the news? It is always protrayed as the poor little Palestinians simplying trying to protect themselves from the big bad Iraeli's. This is clearly propaganda that Joseph Goebbels would be proud of.

            This is a product put out by so called professionals. We are increasingly being bombarded by opinion disguised as fact. Isn’t that the very definition of propaganda? So where are all of the cries from the American people or our guardians of the free press? Silenced just like Judith Miller! You see if you are not toting the party line then you are a heretic. Therefore my previous claim that Liberalism is a religion and that the holders of the press are its high priests. Worthy of though don’t you think?
