A CALL TO ARMS
If you want proof of liberal bias in the Major Media all you have to do is follow the so called Valerie Plame/ Scooter Libby affair. The bottom line is that elements within the CIA were/have been waging a war against the Bush and its foreign policy. Some facts you might not be aware of are:
VP husband Joe Wilson told a number of whoppers’ which the MM never called him on. The first would be he implied that Dick Cheney's office sent him to Africa to check up on the British claim that Saddam's Iraq had tried to obtain yellowcake from Nigeria. It latter turned out that the CIA had sent him and he was suggested or nominated by his wife VP. A curious point about this is it is SOP for all persons doing CIA business to sign a non-disclosure statement. Joe did not do this. People within the CIA who heard his report stated that it supported the British claim more than disproved it. Which is lie #2. When confronted with the claim that his wife was responsible for his going to Nigeria he deigned it. (lie #3). It is also relevant to note that the British Butler commission (which was created to determine if Blair etal had mislead the British Government about reasons for going to war with Iraq). This commission confirmed the validity of this claim with numerous independent sources. (lie #4).
Remember the sixteen words used by Bush in his SOU speech was that British Intelligence had reported that representatives of the Iraqi government had tried to buy Uranium ore. None of this has been reported by the MM. It should be clear by now, that VP was not undercover (lie #5). That is why Scooter wasn’t charged with this crime but only lying to the Grand Jury. VP had not been in any undercover assignment for several years (she was removed from field service) because it was feared that Aldrich Ames might have compromised her cover. Several people have stated that it was common knowledge that VP worked for the CIA and that her husband bragged about that on numerous occasions.
Joe has also stated that her life had been threatened after the article by Novak was published. This has never been verified. I believe it was all part of the campaign to further embarrass the Bush Admin. and cast further discredit on the Iraq war. (lie #6) You would think that all of this would make a great story. Yet no one, even Judith Miller who was at the center on much of this, ever wrote about these facts. That is why the Bush Admin was talking to reporters. They were trying to counter the mis-information being spread by the MM and thus the CIA. Congress should hold hearing on this matter but the Republicans continue to act like cowards while the Democrats savagely attack them and President Bush.
