Recently, on a CBS News broadcast, during their “Free Speech” segment, a father of one of the victims of the Columbine massacre stated that events like Columbine and the Amish slaughter were due to us banning God from the classroom. You would have thought that he had blamed the problem on little green men from the outcries heard. In fact, the response indicates that he hit a nerve. Based upon my own and a few acquaintances experiences, I believe most Liberals are at war with God. How else can you explain the fears of a theocracy being voiced by numerous writers and pundits? In fact, I think most of their irrational anger is due to their feelings of guilt about their rebellion against God. Clearly, for any type of democracy to work the vast majority of its citizens must behave in a moral manner. It has now become common for divorcees to outnumber married couples. Watch any television/movies or read most magazines and it seems quite clear that we are not behaving as a moral people. Maybe that is why most leftists seem unable to deal with Muslim extremists and what motivates them and their anger. These radicals believe that the West has become hopelessly immoral and decadent. Who can blame them when their image of what makes an American is formed by our media, especially movies.
With shows like desperate housewives or many others being beamed throughout the world how can you blame them? Hollywood has become one of our greatest exporters. That might explain some of the incredible anger that people like Sean Penn or Barbara Streisand project. They feel tremendous guilt about the filth that they help produce. Liberals also seem to be totally disconnected from how many failed experiments like the Great Society and welfare have actually hurt the poor. These two programs have been devastating on the Black Community. In 1960, about 80% of Black families consisted of both a father and mother. Welfare actually forced many Black men to abandon their families for their wife and children to receive payments. It also made it easier for them to avoid any responsibility for the children they had created. Currently, less than 40% of Black families have two parents. No greater predictor of poverty or crime can be found than growing up in a single mother household and dropping out of school. Yet something like only 30% of kids finish high school in our major cities.
Women file for about 80% of divorces, yet they are the ones who pay the ultimate price for divorcing. So why is this? Radical feminism has encouraged women to dump their men for years. They encourage her to blame all of her problems on her husband. So do you hear the advocates of the poor encouraging people to go to church, protect their marriage or to stay in school, of course not? They are to busy writing about how Thomas Jefferson wasn’t really a Christian and that dead white guys are unworthy of our admiration. Liberals have to go to extreme lengths to defend decisions by the Supreme Court which created the so called “wall of separation” or the right to privacy. Please show me anywhere in the Constitution where it talks about the right to privacy. They will go to great lengths to defend rulings by the court which legalize all kinds of pornography and violence, but go into a froth when you mention the second amendment. What they really mean when they talk about a living constitution is that we can define what the constitution says to fit our agenda. Banning flag burnings or defending the institution of marriage are simply a diversion from the real issues, which seem to be finding new rights for terrorists and gays or treating terrorism as a law enforcement issue.
Ultimately, we are all to blame for allowing the Supreme Court to get away with their version of social engineering and not screaming from the top of our lungs as society falls apart. But, then we wouldn’t be able to engage in escapism by watching trash on TV or the movies and we might have to read and actually think, once in a while.
